I wanted to cut my hair like this so that it is easier to style but the boyfriend say it doesn't suit me:( My hair is so boring now.
*WAVESWAVESWAVES* The frantic midterms and project submission is over for this half a semester and there's no midterms after recess week so I am sooooo elated. After hearing how SMA prof actually encourage us to go away during the long weekend before cramming to catch up on our books, I really wish to go for a short weekend trip or staycation. Sighs.
This post is gonna be really long and so...
The Script!
I wanted to go when they came here 2 years ago. I still remember mugging outside the SOA benches while hearing them rehearse at Fort Canning and hearing the buzzing of the real concert during class:( I was so sad that I couldn't go for their concert. Thanks to the boyfriend, I can finally go for it this year! :D They are really good live! && I didn't know the lead singer is this good looking. Hehs. I only listen to their songs all these years.
2nd Anniversary <3
Can't believe that we are together for two years already. I used to be the kind of girls that celebrate monthsary. Alvin is my first serious boyfriend and a boyfriend who doesn't believe in monthsaries; only anniversaries-.- Whatever it is, I am so glad for him. He loves me, he loves my family and his family dotes on me. There's nothing more I can ask for. All the stuff we have been through also brought us together closer. He doesn't shout at me when I cry anymore and he is so mucccccccch more understanding now. Hehe. Love you baby!
We went back to the same place where he asked me to be his girlfriend and gave me macarons with colours that represent the colours of what we wore for our first 3 dates. I can never guess this (there are no secret between us and... also USUALLY no surprises because we know each other too well to guess what we will get for each other. LOL.).
Early birthday celebration @ Au Chocolat Bistro
The next day he celebrated my birthday early at Au Chocolat after my class. Weiqi is the first one who mentioned this place to me and I went to Google about it. Been dying to try this!
We only ordered those items that were recommended by the food review blogs that I found.
The first is this yummy Hot Fudge:
So sinful but soooooooo good! It's not so sweet and definitely worth the try. Advise you guys to share it though. Too much for one when you are having main course too :)
I really love the interior design and ambience of Au Chocolat. So France like. Ahhh~~~ Europe here I come. I am already drafting the list for my Florence trip towards the end of exchange. Hehe. Anyway, I didn't received the Chanel earrings as my present:/ So... that will be on the top of my list and probably the necklace too;)
Acting cute with the present. I already guessed that he will buy me this but I just kept quiet about it (The Big Ben charm). Hehe.
FAT BOY. He has been gaining a lotttt of weight after he came back from exchange almost 1 year ago. I tell him how fat he is and how flabby he is every single day but he is still not doing anything about it-.- The only plus point is that his chest is now nicer to lean on and he is overall, quite huggable. Haha.
The next table was busy instagramming their food:
We were soooo super hungry so we ordered an appetiser -Mushroom Truffles! We didn't order this because of the reviews we read and this is soooo good. I haven't ate such tasty food for a long time! Will definitely come back for this. The food remain warm for a long time too.
My first duck confit! :) This is much raved about by those who went to Au Chocolat. I never had duck confit before so I didn't know it was fried. But the inside is so soft and nice! And the sauce, with chocolate in it, taste really unique. Love it! :D
The boyfriend's half roasted chicken. The sauce is really special too! Zesty taste with a tinge of chocolate?? Not so sure what's inside the sauce but we were really impressed by all the items we ordered. So amazed at how they can create such unique sauces:) Will definitely come back again. They have huge macarons too. Hehe.
Ask the boyfriend to help me take an ootd shot but it didn't turn out nice. So happy with this dress! I wanted to order this design from Tobi.com long time ago but I don't really trust their service so I decided to wait and see if any Singapore blogshops actually carry this and the denim romper and yes! I got them both ^^V
At night went back to have dinner with my family! We don't have to habit to celebrate birthdays but I still try to make the day special, especially for my mum's birthday:) [Photos from sis' phone]
I wanted to take photo with my grandma but as usual, she refused to look at the camera. Haha. My bro don't want to be in the photo cos he is not dressed up. He is the most vain among us-.-
My sis bought me this slice of cake.
Actually birthday celebration @ Spruce
Spruce is really secluded. It's almost impossible for me to get there without someone driving me. Even for drivers it's troublesome because of the huge jam. I was there early as I asked Alvin to send me there on his way to meet his client. Phew~~ So glad to be able to celebrate birthday with my BFFs again! It's our 10th year anniversary after this year. So thankful to have them as my bestfriends. They are always there even when I isolate myself during JC times or when I need someone to talk to :)
Random snippets of life while I was busy with AFA revision and Strategy assignment:
One of my favourite food in school. Seldom eat in school but when I do, I really hope to have nice food like this. First time having it this sem cos I tried to not snack during breaks as much as possible.
My boyfriend loves stuff toys.
Average latte at Bakerzin with Alvin's mum after sharing my 50% La Senza birthday month discount. I made a list and got all I need. Nothing more;)
Random photo to show the boyfriend's thick eyebrows and long eyelashes. He don't have to trim his eyebrows, he is born with a nice eyebrow shape.
Post birthday lunch @Chye Seng Huat Hardware
I love the concept of this cafe but hope that they can put more functional and comfortable tables and chairs. I hate high chairs and small tables especially when we are carrying our rather big bags and heavy Macbooks.
The coffee here is really good! Chye Seng Huat is Papa Palheta's new flagship store. I only came to know about Papa Palheta during SMA class last week. It is a pay-as-you-wish cafe 2 years back and of course it didn't make it in Singapore's culture. Haha. But the coffee is really good. They have a Coffee Bean Roasting Workshop here too. The coffee smells heavenly but I hope it comes with sizes though. The amount of coffee is really too little for me!
Didn't bring camera out and rely on Note II's camera again. Made an impromptu decision to come here with Huihui cos I couldn't decide on where to go and I haven't been here. It was a rather long walk from Lavender MRT station. I ordered this chicken patty to share as it is mentioned online as the must-try here. The boyfriend will probably love this as it comes with a strong paisley / basil taste which I couldn't appreciate. The sauce that came with it is super garlic-y! We also ordered a huge sausage dish to share. The photo doesn't look nice and hence I am not posting it. Haha. The sausage is really tasty and at the same time not too hard. Most sausages that I had in restaurants/cafes are very hard. We couldn't finish all the food in the end but spend quite an enjoyable time just chilling and talking nonsense after our frantic AFA revision and rushing out Strat assignment ^^
