Recess week in a glance!

My recess week was made a little better with my lovely friends :) So glad for all the nice people around me.

More under cut...

Finally met up with Jasmine during the recess week! We used to talk everyday on Sametime chat when we were doing internship but didn't really spoke much when school starts cos we have entirely different time table.

Caught The Host that day which was surprisingly good! No particular exciting scene but the storyline is good. I bought the book straight after I finished the Twilight series as I was sooo convinced that Stephanie Mayer is a good author but I didn't finish the book as it wasn't as exciting as Twilight? Weird. Haha. Will definitely catch up on the book over summers :)

Jasmine bought me Sephora Vouchers for my birthday. So loved :) We didn't have much time to talk too. The cinema opened rather late and we only have 10 mins to finish our crepes before the movie:O

Went to Orchard to shop for some gifts after that and met the boy for early dinner. Tonkatsu Ma Maison. Super love the brown rice!

The fat boy was still hungry after dinner and he was craving for NYDC desserts. Looks too sinful so I didn't have a bite of it.

Pasta Brava for a belated birthday dinner for Angelina! It was surprisingly good! We decided to go to this place after reading some reviews online. Well, I don't trust that reviewer anymore cos it's often not as good as he claims. He always prefer the more expensive alternatives which wasn't to my liking actually. Haha. This place is quite an exception. There was such a large variety on the menu. Pretty spoilt for choices. Will definitely go back again.

Grin Affair with Huihui after one of our project meetings in school. I have always wanted to try cake in a jar and the only one that I have came across is Tiramisu Hero? But apparently Grin Affair was the first to start this in Singapore. There do not sell Tiramisu so I chose Dark Chocolate flavour and Huihui chose Lychee flavour to share. Definitely love the Lychee flavour more :) They do not accept cash so I didn't managed to take away:( I will go back to buy some for the boyfriend and my family to try :) Oh, and also the famous Ang Ku Kueh shop nearby too.

Woohoooo. Finally get to try the much raved about Tim Ho Wan! Huihui and I decided to meet at 9.30am but she reached early and tada... We are 4th in the queue and got the first seating thanks to her<3 Alvin came to join us much later.

Huihui's hair is always so tamed and neat!

Trying to block the aunty from the photos but failed:

I thought the beancurd skin with scrimp is fried but no! And it's so yummy! We ordered this again and I probably ate like 3 of them. Haha.

Ordinary looking sponge cake but it's soooo fluffy and nice. Not overly sweet. Just nice:)

Har gow is worth a try too! Don't know why but their prawns taste so much nicer than other dim sum places!

First time trying the pig liver chee cheong fun and it's good! The pig liver is so tender. Unlike the pig liver that I boiled at home.

Super crispy egg white spring roll. The skin is soooo well made. Gonna drool thinking about this.

Nothing special about their siew mai. The har gow is much better!

Their carrot cake tastes different from other dim sum places too. It has more radish and it's less salty. Definitely a must try!

The legendary baked Cha Siew Bao! Now they placed a limit on the buns such that each customer can only buy three and the takeaway counter is closed. The only way to get around it is to order and ask them to give us styrofoam boxes to takeaway on our own. I wanted to order more to bring home for my family to try but it's impossible with the limit so I had one and takeaway 2, 1 for my mum and 1 for my aunt and bring it to their workplace. Sound so pathetic. Haha. Alvin da bao-ed for his parents. Huihui didn't had any and takeaway all + try to ask the waiter to allow her to order 3 more and she allowed!:) To me, it was quite overrated cos there was one period of time, after A levels, I was super crazy over Po Luo Buns with Cha Siew and this taste just like Cha Siew Po Luo Buns.

Do queue before they open at 10am to avoid the long waiting time! :)

Hakka Yong Tau Fu @ Amoy with Huihui after project meeting. Yummy. This is the second time I am  having it and it tasted just as good. Amoy and Maxwell are my favourite hawker centres! :)

Tried the Zhen Jie's chinese dessert. The queue was sooo long so I thought it must be super good. But nah... Not exceptionally good. I think they are famous for their glutinous rice balls.

Photos from my phone taken at Symmetry:

The boy's new found talent - make his double eyelids more visible.

Been looking for a comfy stripes top with reasonable quality and this new found love from AA is not bad ;)

Ending abruptly here. Need to rush my projects now. Till then:)
