Cologne Day 2 - Schokoladen Museum

Day 2 in Cologne went by in a breeze. We only went to the Schokoladen Museum, walk around the town for a bit before leaving to catch our bus to Amsterdam.

Amsterdam to Cologne - 8/11/2013 - 9/11/2013

After being away from 'civilisation' or rather a city with more advanced technology and efficiency, I was extremely looking forward to this trip!

Madrid Part 3 - Awesome food and weekend

Hi all! Back from Korea and super drained from work. I don't know when will I ever finish blogging about my exchange or our pre-honeymoon (which we have FINALLY printed out our photobook). Probably by the end of this year? Horror! Work has taken a huge toil on me. All I want to do after work is to rest. No mood to read anything or to gain some new knowledge. My daily routine has to change.

Let me finish up on the weekend in Madrid! After checking off all the must-sees, it was time to just chill and relax in Madrid.

Madrid Part 1

Madrid is the first city that I travelled on my own. One thing check off my bucket list. I know I would crave for some valuable personal time after the Eastern Europe-London-Paris trip so I literally booked this just a day before I flew off from Singapore and settled accoms hours before. No plans no nothing. Just book and go. The freedom to go anywhere I want, to eat anything I want and well... just do anything I like. Don't know why I enjoy having my personal space a lot as I grow older. Maybe because... my boyfriend is always not around or just doesn't enjoy hanging out,  and so on... I got so used to it and sometimes I find it a chore to have small talks with acquaintances... I just grew to be more of an introvert (INFJ to be specific with the test). It's weird.

Snippets of my trip!

Hello from Lisboa

Ola!

I have finally settled down in Lisbon after 19 days of travelling. Happy and not so happy times. I will blog about it when I have my Mac charger back. I am very blessed with all the great experiences which kind of prepared me for the upcoming 5 months of exchange. I can walk slopes without feeling tired now. I can walk an hour without feeling anything. Hmms. I spent the whole of yesterday (Lisbon time) waiting for flight and for transit. Just when I thought I could finally let down my load especially with the help of my landlord, Vueling lost my baggage. I am covered by travel insurance but all my essentials, toiletries, my Mac charger and most importantly, Mousey is inside)': I am leaving for Madrid tomorrow. I really hope Vueling can find my baggage. To be honest, I don't feel like flying anymore, even my family ask me to forgo the trip. I want my baggage back. Sighs.

Lisbon-bound

Hello people! I haven't wrote a proper post on my upcoming exchange. I will be going to where I pointed in the map - Lisbon, Portugal, for a 5 month exchange. This is my second time applying for exchange. I didn't get what I wanted during the first time I apply when I was in year 2 and I rejected it. I didn't get my desired choice in the first round this time but was lucky to be offered this placement in the second round.

I was really unhappy that I couldn't go on an exchange with Huihui given that there was 10 places for that particular university. Some seniors told me that it was almost impossible to get an exchange placement if you rejected an offer before. I totally gave up on the thought of going on an exchange until the email for the second round of selection came. The leftover European universities were very very limited. Didn't have any high hopes and tada... I got the Lisbon placement and I accepted it:D The only problem with this offer is that I will be the only SMU student going. There's none from NTU but probably some from NUS but so far, NUS Business school friends haven't heard of any. Do let me know if any of you have friends heading to Universidade Nova De Lisboa/ Nova School of Business and Economics. That will be a great help! :)

The minute I found out that I will be going to Lisbon by myself, I quickly call the office to ask for more info but they refused to help me until I officially accept the offer. Sighs. So I did a Google search for people's blogpost on it and that returned nothing. Luckily I found 3 seniors who went to this university while searching for some reviews about this school on Facebook. Hehe. 2 of the SMU seniors are super helpful (ahem, in general all are very helpful normally but if you are unlucky, you'll probably meet the rude ones in this kind of situation) and tell me almost everything I need to know. So in general Lisbon is rather safe and cheap as compared to the rest of the Europe. They gave me contacts to rent apartment too. Felt so much more assured after that. So I think I am good to go :DD Everyone I asked kept telling me to go, that Lisbon is really beautiful, the university is beautiful, Zara and related brands are cheap there and blahblahblah... Here are some photos of Lisbon I found on Tumblr, to be honest, I didn't heard of Lisbon before exchange application:

The place looks promising. Hehe. I'll probably spam photos of the cute buildings for the first few weeks that I am there. I have already started to make a list of which clothes items I will bring over (I have a bursting wardrobe right now that isn't timeless. I probably wont wear them again after I come back 5 months later), what to buy when I first got there and what to buy in Florence when I am coming back ;) I just hope that I can have some NUS travel buddies so that I can travel before school starts. I have to come back when the sem ends at mid Jan. No chance to travel after that. Hopefully there will be NUS peeps going! Prays! So far I don't know where I'll want to go except for the MUST-VISIT London, Edinburgh and related ones and to Florence when I am coming back. Kiruna is super expensive to go from Lisbon and might not be lucky enough to see the Northern Lights. Hmms.

Busybusy week ahead

Hello people!

Back for some blogging love before I begin on my assignments. Just had a super full dinner. Anyway, I still couldn't resist the princessy Lovebonito Wedding Collection's dresses and carted out two. Oh no. I don't usually go out in any outfits that are too demure lately. I don't want to look like a weakling or some dependent girls so I'll always pair sweet lil dresses/skirts with biker vest, studded vest, denim jackets and stuff to 'harden' the look something like this but without so much studs:

Haha. I am crazy. But I guess appearing like a strong lady is better in any case (maybe I should do away with emo tweets but that means I have to set up a private space to rant and sobs???). I guess it makes guys in university treat you with more respect and won't think that you are a bimbo when you are all dressed up? BUT. Girls still need princess-y dresses. So... ahem. That explains the purchase.

Hearing how my groupmates are going France for exchange just makes me green with envy. Sighs. Hope Huihui and I could get somewhere nice like London(*winkwinks*), France or Germany. I want somewhere where I can travel cheap and... visit London as much as possible. I misssssss London so damn much. Gen is planning to go San Francisco so... I guess I won't be joining her. USA is never on my list. I still prefer arty farty places. Scenic, slow and romantic. Aww. Even though A&F will be crazily cheap in US but I can still crazy shop Zara, Stradivarius, Bershka and Massimo in Europe like crazy. Can't wait for the application to open on Dec. I totally forgot about Tomorrowland. Really hope to go for it when I am still young. Haha. Crazy partying and good music. Really envy couples who can go on exchange together. But I guess going on an exchange in Y4S1 will be a good time to getaway from the boyfriend for a while. A lil distance is always good.

Something I found on Tumblr

Okay. Enough of randomness! Time to do work. Can't wait for F1 with the boyfriend this weekend! Vroom~
