Amsterdam Day 1 - Zaanse Schans

First full day in Amsterdam is very memorable. It's probably the main highlight of this trip - Zaanse Schans.

Cologne Day 2 - Schokoladen Museum

Day 2 in Cologne went by in a breeze. We only went to the Schokoladen Museum, walk around the town for a bit before leaving to catch our bus to Amsterdam.

Amsterdam to Cologne - 8/11/2013 - 9/11/2013

After being away from 'civilisation' or rather a city with more advanced technology and efficiency, I was extremely looking forward to this trip!

Madrid Part 1

Madrid is the first city that I travelled on my own. One thing check off my bucket list. I know I would crave for some valuable personal time after the Eastern Europe-London-Paris trip so I literally booked this just a day before I flew off from Singapore and settled accoms hours before. No plans no nothing. Just book and go. The freedom to go anywhere I want, to eat anything I want and well... just do anything I like. Don't know why I enjoy having my personal space a lot as I grow older. Maybe because... my boyfriend is always not around or just doesn't enjoy hanging out,  and so on... I got so used to it and sometimes I find it a chore to have small talks with acquaintances... I just grew to be more of an introvert (INFJ to be specific with the test). It's weird.

Paris Day 1 - 28 Aug 2013

Paris... It was the first time I was travelling with Weiqi alone! To be honest, I haven't had the chance to join my BFFs on a trip before. Definitely gonna include that in my bucket list.

London Day 4 - 27 Aug 2013

Roamed around London by myself for the first time. I was yearning so much for personal time and this served as a preview of travelling alone before my Madrid trip.

Oxford - 26 Aug 2013

After much contemplation, I decided to post this. If not there's always a gap in my travelogue:)

It's embarrassing to say this but I really feel that the photos taken on this day are just so awful. I don't take nice photos on walking tours.

London - 24 Aug 2013

We were greeted with a gloomy and rainy London. My friend warned me about the weather but I didn't know it's so bad.

Even without the rain, I feel that London has really changed so much over the past 5 years. It felt so different to be back again. && I'll say I had better memories of it back then...

Glasgow to Edinburgh - 21 to 22 Aug 2013

Finally! We touched down the land where you see more seagulls than pigeons and crows in the late afternoon of the 21st. Oh, and there, the gloomy sky.

Warsaw Stopover - 20 Aug 2013

Reached Warsaw at about 6am and make our way to Oki Doki Hostel to drop our luggages and make our way to the old town for the free walking tour! I wanted to go to the Uprising museum and Gestapo Headquarters museum but they were closed on the day we were there :( Weiqi and Jiayi are never interested in museums and I was all ready to explore those myself but... oh well...

Krakow Day 2 - 19 Aug 2013

Started our day early to first lock our luggages in the bus station and set off for Auschwitz Concentration Camp tour. We took a coach-like bus out to Auschwitz. Oh, here's the thing, in Europe, people pretty much squeeze up the bus. I mean, you see that in Singapore and we will all go like... kiasu people. I will expect Europe to be very much different but sadly, no. Even for overnight buses, people don't care about the seat number and would sometimes take up to 2 seats. It's really very irritating, especially when the bus is full. SO better be a Kiasu Singaporean and try to squeeze in front to secure a seat. Anyway, the first bus out to Auschwitz were full so we had to stood like 1.5 hours to 2 hours to get there. At least, we managed to join one of the first English tours! The place is packed with tourists. The whole tour, if you go to both camps, takes a lot more time than the Salt Mine tour. So, be prepared to spend more than half a day there. It was late summer for us and it was scorching hot. Do put sunblock and bring along your shades and cap!

Prague Day 1 - 16 Aug 2013

Prague. A romantic and beautiful city.

My first Friday in Lisboa!

Hola!

This is the first time I allow myself to wake up without an alarm clock since 12 Aug? Filed the insurance claim, did laundry (handwash) and just catching up on Iris as there are no tutorials for the first week :D && of course I am still realllllly tired. Weiyi and Po Xian have been asking me for nights out but I am all like no... Haha. I know I should totally have nights out and just go socialise with people but it's tiring to talk to people who don't really understand English well and stuff. I think I need another week to recover. Looking forward to going to the beach during weekends! && I am working on Prague post right now.
